Mr. Bolton is currently Chair of the Board of Directors of EPCOR Utilities Inc. He also serves on the Board of Directors of WestJet Airlines Ltd., the Corporate Oversight and Governance Advisory Board of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada, the Advisory Council of the Institute of Corporate Directors (Edmonton Chapter), and the Board of Directors of the Edmonton Downtown Academic & Cultural Centre Foundation.

Mr. Bolton recently completed long-standing tenures on the Boards of a number of Canada’s leading corporations, including Teck Resources Limited, TD Bank Financial Group, the Canadian National Railway Company, Capital Power Corporation and Matrikon Inc.

He has been an active Corporate Director since retiring in 1998 after almost 40 years with Coopers & Lybrand (PricewaterhouseCoopers) and its predecessor firms. Mr. Bolton has considerable domestic and international experience and an extensive background in providing assistance to some of Canada’s major multinational corporations. He completed a six-year term as the Chairman and Chief Executive Partner of Coopers & Lybrand Canada in 1997.

Mr. Bolton has received numerous citations recognizing his accomplishments within business and his profession, in addition to his contributions to the development of public policy. He was appointed to the Alberta Tax Review Committee and the Ontario Financial Review Commission by their respective provincial governments.

In November 2017, the Governance Professionals of Canada presented Mr. Bolton with the Peter Dey Governance Achievement Award for Excellence in Governance.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta has distinguished Mr. Bolton with a Fellowship, a Distinguished Service Award, and a Lifetime Achievement Award. Mr. Bolton has served as a member of the Institute’s influential Audit Quality Working Group.

Mr. Bolton has made a special commitment to his alma mater, the University of Alberta, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) in 1959. He has contributed extensively to the School of Business, where he served on its Business Advisory Council for 16 years, chaired its Campaign Cabinet – a major fundraising initiative that raised $50 million, and was an Executive-in-Residence. Mr. Bolton is currently associated with the University of Alberta’s Golden Bears Football, through a program that provides athletes with an academic support system. In November 2015, the University of Alberta awarded Mr. Bolton with an Honorary Doctor of Laws Degree.

Mr. Bolton has also been active in his community, furthering non-profit organizations such as Shock Trauma Air Rescue (STARS) and the Canadian Diabetes Association.

Mr. Bolton was born and raised in Edmonton. He and his wife, Margot, have three adult children. Ticket Deadline is Monday May 28 at 12 noon
