Lessons in Business at the Ballpark

Randy Gregg, Managing Director

Edmonton Riverhawks

Edmonton Riverhawks games have quickly become go-to events for a lot of people in the capital region and beyond. People love going down to the gorgeous diamond in Edmonton's beautiful river valley to experience an event that is far more than just baseball. How did the Hawks do that in just one year? Were all the hits home runs? Were there any strikeouts?

Hear Riverhawks Managing Director Dr. Randy Gregg talk about year one at RE/MAX Field. The experience he brought to the ballpark, the knowledge he gained during the inaugural season, the work to engage customers beyond the traditional base and more all led to a winning formula in the Hawks debut season.

Hope to see you there!

Synergy Network January Meeting

Jay Downton,

Founder of Oilersnation.com and the Nation Network & President of Oodle Noodle

TURNING PASSION INTO PROFIT

Early on in his entrepreneurial journey, Jay Downton discovered the hard way that passion was key to building a successful business. After a failed business, Jay harnessed his passion for hockey into Oilers Nation, growing it from a protest site with 0 visitors to a $15 million exit. Join us for a fireside chat with Jay as he shares how he has leveraged his passion for Edmonton and community into a multi-business empire.

A passionate Edmontonian, Jay is committed to play a role in helping make Edmonton a 'Global 10'. In 2007, he co-founded Oilersnation.com and the Nation Network. In 2010, Jay was appointed President of Oodle Noodle, applying the skills he learned from specializing in franchise financing at ATB, for which he was awarded the President’s Award in 2010 for highest corporate sales in his position. Since taking the helm, his guidance has led Oodle Noodle to become a 14-store local chain. Jay’s passion for Edmonton and its river valley led him to be one of the co-owners of Little Brick Café. This became the catalyst to fuel Jay and his team to help build more river valley amenities, which led to the creation of River Valley Company, which aims to play a part in building more community amenities and support the development of outdoor tourism in the river valley.

Hope to see you there!
